We had a variety of activities in Oliver House today despite weather uncertainty. Evidence shows that relationships between staff, residents, family, friends and the wider community are the most important factor in determining the quality of life for residents. Our residents love to party and when family and members of the community come to join us it makes for special moments for everyone.
Today we started off with prayers and song with Father Julius. Then a period of silence was observed to remember our departed friends. Residents were serenaded at dinner time by James Attenborough, then there was a Children’s Talent Show and we had songs and dances for the remainder of the afternoon
We shared international cuisine (pot luck) to recognise the many different nationalities involved with the daily caring of our residents.
Although being from different cultures we all share the same key objective, the love and care of our residents.
We thank you all. including Ilkeston Theatre Company (Justine and her husband) for continued support and effort to help us create a happy and friendly community for our residents.
Carol Lawson.
