I was watching The One Show on TV the other day when there was an item about a man who had found a hoard of Roman silver coins. It was his last words… that he’s now part of history… that reminded me about my daughter. It was some time ago but she too has made her mark in history although it was never reported in the papers.
Around 2012-2013, Sara, a pupil at Cotmanhay Infants then, entered a competition to re-design their school logo. Her design was chosen and she won an electronic quad bike.
My daughter is now coming up to 15 and to this day every child who attends the Infants wears with pride a design she drew and won the competition with. So in a kind of way, hasn’t she made her mark in the history of the school and all these years on the children still wear the design. It’s also used on school letters.
