Group Scout Leader Diane Harris invested the first 11 Squirrels at the recently formed 21st Ilkeston Dray.
The Squirrels were watched by their families as they made the Scout promise.
The group, who had their first meeting on 29th February, get together on Thursdays, 4.30 to 5.30pm at Kirk Hallam Community Centre where they enjoy indoor and outdoor fun and working towards achievements.
Currently only children living in Kirk Hallam and those having a sibling in the Scouts can join.
