Late night Christmas gift shopping at the Museum

Erewash Museum will be open later on Thursdays in the run up to Christmas to give residents the opportunity to shop for gifts from local businesses.

The museum will stay open until 7.30pm on Thursday 1 December, Thursday 8 December and Thursday 15 December. Both Dalby House and the shop will be open for all visitors to enjoy.

The museum has lots of great gift ideas including art prints by Stephen Millership, soft toys, classic children’s toys, children’s books by Kerry Dilks and novels by local authors. There will also be illustrated cards available for those who want to send a festive message this Christmas.

Anyone who makes a purchase during the extended hours will receive a gift voucher for a hot drink in the museum’s volunteer-led tea room.

Leader of Erewash Borough Council, Councillor Carol Hart, said:

“With the gift-giving season right around the corner, this is a wonderful opportunity for residents and visitors to purchase some locally produced goodies. There are many wonderful treats available in the museum shop, from notebooks to jewellery – there is something for everyone. The extended hours will also allow more people to visit the museum and enjoy the historic Dalby House.”

Erewash Museum is located a short walk from Ilkeston Market Place. Admission is free for both the house and gardens. For more information visit the Facebook page facebook.com/erewashmuseum, call 0115 907 1141, or email museum@erewash.gov.uk.
