A Christmas gift appeal by Canal Vue Care Home and the Little Acorn pub in Ilkeston saw a great response.
Residents benefitted from numerous gifts and cards kindly donated.
The appeal encouraged patrons of The Little Acorn Bar and residents of the surrounding community to pick a tag from the Christmas tree, which was set up in the popular local establishment.
Each tag represented a Canal Vue resident and their Christmas wish. The response was overwhelming, as piles of wrapped gifts began to grow, each destined to bring holiday cheer to the care home’s beloved residents.
As the big day dawned, the lounge of Canal Vue Care Home was a sight to behold. A sparkling Christmas tree stood surrounded by a trove of gifts, each meticulously wrapped and tagged.
“The kindness we’ve seen has been truly touching,” said the Care Home Acting Manager Francesca Elverstone. “Our residents couldn’t believe their eyes when they saw all the presents. It was a beautiful reminder of the caring community we’re part of.”
