Going cheep! Easter treats at museum
EGG hunts and the chance to hold cuddly chicks are among fun events at Erewash’s museum this Easter.
The award-winning community hub will kick off with a “Non Stop Kids!” party on Good Friday – 29 March – with tickets just £3 per person. It will include a magic show, party games, disco and prizes.
There will also be crafts, a trail and an Easter egg hunt around the museum.
Another trail and egg hunt will be held on Saturday (30 March) when there will be an opportunity “to hold one of our cuddly chicks”. Entry for this is also £3.

Full details will be appearing on the Erewash Museum Facebook page.
The heritage centre near Ilkeston’s Market Place will be following up with Eco Week as the Easter school holidays continue.
Free workshops to create a community miniature village from recycled materials will be held from 11am to 1pm on Wednesday 3 April and Thursday 4 April.
There will also be gardening activities including a “plant swap” – billed as “bring a plant and take a plant”.
On Friday 5 April contemporary dance and performance troupe Follow Through Collective will be entertaining visitors for free. No booking is required but places are limited.
The chock-full programme of upcoming events does not stop there. A three-day Erewash Walking Week challenge from 10 April to 12 April will aim to clock up half a million steps. Visitors will be invited to “pop on a pedometer” while joining in with games and activities.
Erewash council’s Deputy Leader Cllr Becca Everett, who is Lead Member for Community Engagement, said:
“There is no shortage of things to see and do at our ever-popular museum. And as usual during the Easter school holidays children can have a cracking time there.”
The Erewash Museum is usually open Thursdays to Saturdays from 11am to 4pm. Entry to it is free.
