The award winning Erewash Museum will be transformed into a Winter Wonderland of Christmas celebration between Friday 27 November and Tuesday 22 December.

The Museum’s festive four-week season will see the historic Dalby House home of the Museum turned into a magical festive scene where children take part in free themed activity trails and create Christmas wishes for the seasonal tree between 11am and 3pm on each of the Museum’s usual opening days.

And no Winter Wonderland would be complete without a visit from Santa, who will drop into the Museum on Saturday 12 December. Parents can book a slot for their children to visit Santa and receive a small gift between 11am and 3pm. The cost is £1.50 per child and places must be booked in advance by contacting the Museum on 0115 907 1141.

Councillor Mike Wallis, Erewash Borough Council’s Lead Member for Culture and Leisure, says:

“Erewash Museum is a much loved place and to see it transformed into a Christmas wonderland will be so magical and will give families a chance to get together and enjoy heart-warming visits and festive fun in the lead up to the big day.”

Erewash Museum is situated in Ilkeston town centre, a short walk from the Market Place. Opening hours are Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 10am-4pm, and Monday to Saturday during school holidays. Admission is free.
