The Great Get Together in Erewash

Erewash residents have the chance to go along to a community party this weekend as part of the nationwide Great Get Together, a campaign organised by the Jo Cox Foundation in honour of the murdered MP.
Erewash Borough Council has joined forces with Ilkeston Churches to hold the event at Ilkeston’s Victoria Park on Sunday 18 June between 3pm and 6pm.
Jo’s family and friends launched the country-wide initiative to encourage communities and people to get together with their neighbours for a street party, shared picnic or barbecue over the weekend of 16-18 June – which marks the first anniversary of the MP’s death on 16 June 2016,
The Erewash Great Get Together gives all local residents the chance to take along their own picnics, blankets and seating to meet others. Ilkeston Brass will be on the newly restored bandstand to entertain party-goers and there will be free crafts and games for children.
