As a five-year-old boy, Christopher Dean planted a young oak tree to mark the Queen’s 40th year on the throne.
Last month his daughter Amelia, also five, planted another one in the same place.
The first tree had suffered damage in a storm and had been felled.
Christopher is delighted that a new tree is back where the original one stood – for a special reason.
The story is in the next Ilkeston Life paper.
