Stand easy, soldier
….a breath of country air
Stanley & Stanley Common Parish Council represented by Cllr Ivan Eyre laid a remembrance wreath after the service at All Saints Church, Stanley Common with representatives of the church and the talented creator of the crocheted WW1 soldier Jilly Crofts.
His duty is done now and he will be off to his permanent new home at Erewash Museum, Ilkeston.
“They shall not grow old, as we that are left grow old. Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning we will remember them”.
