       Richdale Sofas celebrates 3 years in Ilkeston town centre

       After 13 successful years in Sandiacre, Richdale Sofas moved to a larger showroom into the
       Old Co-op, on Ilkeston Market Place in February 2019. This allowed them to offer a wider
       range of sofas, chairs & corner sofas, as well as an extensive carpet range & dining room
       furniture.
       Their made to measure sofas are still made locally, to customers exact sizes and design.
       They also offer a standard size range, which is budget friendly, all in a wide range of fab-
       rics, there is something to suit everyone.
       Rachael Winfield, owner said ‘Three years has flown by, and despite being in a pandemic
       for the majority of the time, we are growing each year. The times of lockdown were wor-
       rying, but we had customers still contacting us for new furniture and carpets, and we were
       able to maintain orders until we were able to fully open again. We’re planning for 2022, to
       be our biggest and best year yet. We are working on new designs for sofas, updating our
       showroom and some exciting new ideas.

       Latest business grant support


       Erewash Borough Council has now opened applications for the Omicron Hospitality and
       Leisure Grant with a deadline for submissions at midday on 21 February.
       Businesses must submit all applications online through the council’s grant approval system
       and payments to eligible businesses will be made by 31 March at the latest.
       Full details of the scheme, the qualifying criteria and how to apply are on the website www.
       erewash.gov.uk/OmicronGrants
       The government announced the latest grants just before Christmas and local authorities
       have been awaiting further guidance on how they will be managed and details of the quali-
       fying criteria for businesses.
       The grants cover the period from 30 December 2021 and eligible businesses can apply for
       one-off grants, with payments dependent on the rateable value of premises.
       Councillor Wayne Major, Erewash Borough Council’s Deputy Leader and Lead Member
       for Resources, says:
       “We are well aware how much the hospitality, leisure and accommodation sector – both
       nationally and locally - suffered over the Christmas and New Year period due to cancelled
       bookings and uncertainty caused by the Omicron variant.
       “We are expecting a high demand for this grant and we would ask businesses to please
       be patient. Progress updates can be seen via the online grant approval system. Please be
       assured we have made excellent progress and everything is in place so we can get payments
       out as quickly as possible.”
       Businesses are urged to register for a My Erewash account at the council’s website www.
       erewash.gov.uk
