Students from Nottingham Trent University have been imagining how they would develop a part of Ilkeston to make it better. Their ideas form an exhibition at Ilkon Arts Centre (the old Ebenezer church building on Heanor Road) on now.
Both the council and various community representatives have noted the potential of the project to stimulate discussions and debates about the future possibilities for this corner of the town.
Then follows ‘Caught in the Act’, an exhibition of photographs by Doug Smith, an Ilkeston resident who took pictures of pop stars for the NME (New Musical Express) in the seventies. This begins April 11.
More information in the next Ilkeston Life paper.
