Local girl, Lola Newton has won a place in the final of the Miss Teen Great Britain 2024 contest.
Lola, who was born and raised in Ilkeston, fought off competition from across the country to be named as one of the finalists in the Little Miss Teen category for pre-teens.
“I was so happy to have even made it to the semi-finals, but now I’m in the finals I honestly can’t believe it! When I got the phone call last week to say I had made it the final I was just in shock. I still am but I’m so happy,” said 11-year-old Lola.
Her favourite quote is: “In a world where you can be anything, be kind” – (Clare Pooley).
Lola, who now lives in Long Eaton says she is thrilled to have made it to the final.
Hopefuls from across Great Britain will compete for the crown in a spectacular grand final to be held in Blackpool in October. The winners will walk away with some incredible prizes such as a cash prize, a Beauty Queen Challenge Day and a Pyjama Diva Day.
Lola is one of five children and is the youngest girl.
“She is a very confident young lady who loves to dance and does competitions in freestyle dancing,” says her mum Sarah Newton.
Lola says: “My family have supported me in this. My mum has always told me I can be anything I want to be in life, we just have to go out and get it, and that’s exactly what I’m doing.”
Lola has been sponsored by TLF Utilities in Ilkeston and says she’s is grateful for their support.
