DEATH OF ILKESTON MAN
Brian George, a beloved husband, father and grandfather has passed away aged 73.
Brian was born and raised in Cotmanhay and later moved to Spinney Road, Ilkeston, where he spent the remainder of his life.
He had various jobs, starting as a window cleaner and then working for over 25 years at Stanton Ironworks, then Amber Composites in Langley Mill until he retired.
Brian’s granddaughter Abbi Torrance said he was extremely active and loved the outdoors. Bowling, gardening and walking his dogs were a few of his favourite pastimes.
“We’ve lost an exceptionally caring, considerate and hardworking man,” she said.
Brian leaves behind his wife, Yvonne, his two daughters, Nik and Claire, his grandchildren Allanah, Jason, Ellie and Abbi, and two great grandchildren, Aston and Eddie.
