A community play is being put on at Kirk Hallam Community Centre on October 4th 2025 entitled “A Stitch in Time”
The rehearsals have all been at the Dewdrop Inn in Ilkeston and many of the cast members live in or hail from Ilkeston, and it stands as an example of an attempt to be creative out of material relevant to this community and by members of this community.
Performances are at 2.30 and 7.30.

We are interested in the renewal of our town centre and this will need enterprise and creativity above all else. When there are little shoots of this in our midst I am not sure that we are always sufficiently aware of them or encouraging towards them. What is produced in this fashion may be raw, rudimentary and somewhat unpolished but it is an attempt and a noble attempt and charming and delightful in many ways besides.
