Thousands of people turned out to watch a host of dynamic dinosaurs rampage through Derby on Saturday (July 12).
Crowds gathered to see Zeus the T-Rex, one of Europe’s largest dinosaurs, and other prehistoric giants including a Stegosaurus, Parasaurolophus and a Brontosaurus at the Jurassic Day in the Cathedral Quarter event.
Derby’s Market Place was turned into a prehistoric playground as the ancient creatures delighted the audience.
The dinosaurs were the star attraction in Derby this weekend thanks to a free family fun day organised by the Cathedral Quarter Business Improvement District (BID).
Brad Worley, BID Manager for Cathedral Quarter and St Peters Quarter, said: “We had the best turn out yet and families loved it.
“The wonderful weather combined with a whole host of other events going on in Derby this weekend really did bring the city to life.
“The Cathedral Quarter team work very hard to bring these free events to Derby and it was absolutely amazing to let our Jurassic friends loose in Derby again.”
Last year, more than 4,000 people met Zeus and his pals as they entertained visitors, and organisers say even more attended at the weekend.
Next up, is a fun and free street circus in Derby’s Market Place on Saturday, August 9th, from 11am.
