The annual Yappy Ever After Dog Rescue charity fundraiser fun dog show took place on Saturday 14th June at the Shipley Woodside Community Garden and raised a WHOPPING £3,500 to help with their on-going quest to foster dogs and find their forever homes.
The dog show was a huge hit and a lot of fun with classes including grumpiest face and dog/owner lookalikes! The overall winner was Princess Billie, the 8-year-old ex-breeding fox red labrador who, due to illness, is in permanent foster care with regular Yappy fosterer and adopter, Christina Jenkyns (see photo taken by Colin Tomlinson – A Breath of Country Air Photography).
Everyone had a great time and it was so lovely to see all the adopted and fostered dogs enjoying a day out together. It was also a great chance for future adopters to meet the current foster dogs and we’re hopeful that more homes have now been found. Two dogs have already been rehomed after meeting their future owners at the show.
Yappy Ever After Dog Rescue (registered charity number 1163969) was founded in 2015 by Louise Radford after she saved two dogs who were being passed from home to home. There is no rescue centre kennel as all surrendered dogs go straight into foster care for assessment to understand their needs before they go up for adoption. Home checks and meet ups are then planned before adoption to make sure the lifestyle is right for the dog and future owner and to save any further upset in the dog’s life.
