Stapleford Job Fair Welcomes Over 150 Attendees in Its 12th Year

The Stapleford Job Fair, now in its 12th successful year, was held earlier today at the Stapleford Community Centre, attracting over 150 attendees eager to explore employment and volunteering opportunities. The event was organised by Stapleford Community Group, supported by Broxtowe Borough Council, and funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF).

Originally believed to be its 11th year, organisers have now realised that this is, in fact, the 12th year of running the event – a milestone that highlights the ongoing commitment to supporting the local community with employment and training opportunities.

A total of 12 organisations took part, offering a range of job vacancies, volunteering roles, and essential support for those seeking employment. From local businesses to national employers, the event provided a vital platform for jobseekers to connect directly with potential employers and access valuable advice.

Attendees had the opportunity to discuss career prospects, receive employability guidance, and explore pathways into new industries. Many organisations also provided information on training programmes, apprenticeships, and support services designed to help individuals enhance their skills and secure meaningful work.

A special thank you goes to Stephen Richardson, who ensured everyone was well looked after throughout the day with a steady supply of tea, coffee, and cakes, showcasing his expertise in the kitchen and helping to create a welcoming atmosphere for all.

Organisers from Stapleford Community Group expressed their gratitude to everyone involved, emphasising the fair’s continued importance in supporting the local community. The collaboration with Broxtowe Borough Council and funding from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) ensured the event remained free and accessible to all.

With a strong turnout and positive feedback from both jobseekers and employers, the Stapleford Job Fair continues to play a crucial role in connecting people with new opportunities, strengthening the local workforce, and supporting economic growth in the area.
