Ilkeston Army Cadets have an open evening on March 31st 2025 between 7 and 9pm. Activities will include first aid, weapon handling, kit care, field craft, and more.

April 7th-10th 2025 Kids Easter Activity
Kirk Hallam Academy’s Easter Holiday Camp will be held from Monday 7th to Thursday 10th April 2025, 9am till 3pm.
Organisers say the camp is the perfect way to keep kids active and engaged and ‘having a blast’ while parents get some well-deserved time to themselves.
The cost is £19.62 per child per day. Open to children 5 to 11 years.
April 16th 2025
Staff at Oliver House nursing home in Kirk Hallam are organising an Easter Raffle in aid of their residents’ treats fund.
They are asking for the following items:
Easter eggs;
Chocolates;
Cakes;
Canned drinks;
Toiletries;
Plants;
Clothing;
In fact, anything that would make a nice prize.
If you would like to help, the drop off location is Oliver House Nursing Home, 33 Oliver Road, Kirk Hallam, Ilkeston, DE7 4JY.
The money will be used to provide extras, outings, entertainment, etc. for residents.
April 26th 2025
The Maddy Cusack Foundation is staging a fundraising event, the Companion Dog Show on Saturday 26th April 2025 at the Sitwell Arms, Horsley, 11am.
It will be held under KC Rules, pedigree and fun classes.
Vintage fairground rides, face painting, bouncy castle and refreshments available.
Judging from 12 noon.

14th June 2025
The next Yappy Ever After Fun Dog Show will be held on Saturday 14th June 2025 at the Shipley Woodside Community Garden, DE75 7JE, 10.30 till 4pm.
All kinds of dogs and humans are welcome. Will your four-legged friend win a prize? Or will you get lucky on the hook a duck stall and other games.
Craft stalls, home-made cake stalls, hot dogs, biscuits and hot and cold drinks will be available.
And there is also an opportunity for owners to ‘ask the expert’ with dog behaviourist Colin Tomlinson.
Funds raised will help Yappy’s fostering and adoption scheme.
