Adam Thompson, Erewash MP, visited Sandiacre Friendship Hub to discuss ‘Things Sandiacre’ with coordinator Tony Ford.
Tony introduced the MP to the community and he told about his induction as an MP and how they can contact him.
Tony talked with Adam about the loss of the only Pharmacy in Sandiacre and told him that Stapleford now have 3 pharmacies close together, leaving Sandiacre residents in a difficult situation to access NHS prescriptions.
Adam promised to look into it. Also discussed was the issue of the heavy lorries passing both ways through Sandiacre, blocking the traffic and worrying people.
‘One resident tells me she fears for her life every time a huge lorry from Stanton turns right at Sandiacre Bridge’ Tony told him.
Adam said that he has already spoken to the Minister about the need of an additional junction on the M1 to ease the congestion both through Sandiacre and at Junction 25.
Afterwards, Adam mingled with hub members listening to what they had to say. He was given a warm round of applause when he left.
