Erewash Labour Announces £25,000 Investment in Warm Hubs for Vulnerable Residents

Erewash Labour is proud to announce that Erewash Borough Council has allocated £25,000 to support warm hubs across the borough. This vital funding, made possible through prudent financial management and balanced budgets by Erewash Labour, will provide essential warmth and comfort to our most vulnerable residents during the colder months.

While Erewash Borough Council takes proactive steps to support those in need, it is disheartening to note that Derbyshire County Council has yet to announce any similar initiatives for this year. Despite previously providing assistance for warm spaces, the County Council’s current financial struggles have left many residents in limbo, without the crucial support they need.

In addition to the funding for warm hubs, Erewash Labour has collaborated with Adam Thompson, the MP for Erewash, and Derbyshire Citizens Advice to reach out to thousands of pensioners in our community. We have sent letters informing them of their potential eligibility for pension credit, ensuring that those who need support the most are aware of the resources available to them.

Erewash Labour remains committed to prioritizing the needs of our community and will continue to seek innovative solutions to support our residents. By balancing the books and focusing on what truly matters, we are able to look out for those who are most vulnerable.
