Ilkeston Lingerie Brand Bought By Celebs

A brand of lingerie made in Ilkeston is being bought by celebrities.

Local mum Claire Emma Harris, who won funding from the borough council, is seeing her luxury undergarments being bought by famous names of music and screen.

Fashion graduate Claire worked as design director for a high street chain before taking the plunge and launching her own company – Emma Harris.

She and her team at the West Side Factory Mill in Belper Street even offer a bespoke service for their sought-after garments.

“All web orders are made to order,” says Claire. “This reduces fabric waste and increases sustainability. It is of course a very special service for our customers.”

Firms have until Friday 16 August to apply for the latest round of R & D grants from the council. Further information can be found at: www.erewash.gov.uk/r&d

Councillor Curtis Howard, who is Erewash’s Lead Member for Town Centres, Regeneration and Planning, said: “The council continues to do all it can to support local business, innovation, and entrepreneurship – and our R & D grants are a key plank in using money we have clinched from the government to secure jobs. Claire’s thriving company is another success story for the borough. We have more of this money to give out to local businesses so we urge them to apply before 16th August.”
