A boy of eight trekked 19 miles from Derby County’s Pride Park Stadium to Nottingham Forest’s City Ground to raise £2,400 for research into his little cousin’s genetic illness.
Footie-mad Harry Archer, from Borrowash, was determined to do something for little Ruby, three, who has a form of mitochondrial disease. He plays for Borrowash Youth FC, which Erewash Borough Council has supported with a grant to get more youngsters into soccer.
Cllr Becca Everett hailed the young Reds fan as an “inspiration”. As donations poured into a Just Giving page one message read: “Well done young man. Cloughie would’ve been very proud of you.”
