Formerly known as Kings Road Area Neighbourhood Watch, the group had a pie and chips lunch and were entertained by musical duo Roger and Alan Green, aka Angler’s Mates.
The get-together took place at the Methodist church on Butt Street, Sandiacre.
The group is run by Anthony Ford and its aims are to help people in need, keep them safe and keep them informed of local matters.
There was a free food stall for anyone hard up.
The chippy meal was followed by a piece of birthday cake made specially for the day by Joanne Easom.
Angler’s Mates, from Ilkeston, who played their usual assortment of sea shanties and other catchy songs in the style of Cornish group Fisherman’s Friends, said it had been great fun.
Group coordinator Tony Ford said: “It’s so good having people come and help support our community. We have a great set of volunteers and I am quite overwhelmed by all the backing and participation. Here’s to another year of growth and celebration’.
