Angler’s Mates are Ilkeston brothers Roger and Alan Green. They have a love of sea shanty-type songs as performed by Fisherman’s Friends, the Cornwall folk music group. They often include them in their performances, as well as other catchy tunes.
The brothers were born in the Ilkeston Junction area in the 1950s. They got back together musically a couple of years ago, playing at family barbecues and parties. People liked what they were hearing and it led to them being requested to play for local groups and charities.
