Marske United v Ilkeston Town.
The new season gets underway with Ilkeston visiting Marske-by-the-Sea in North Yorkshire.
Ilkeston will be hoping to get something from this Northern Premier League opener although the past week or so has seen them install a new manager and sign new players after an unexpected turn of events interrupted their preparations.
Marske recently announced they have made their ‘biggest signing in their history’ – 28-year-old Nathan Thomas, who has played for several EFL clubs including Plymouth, Mansfield, Shrewsbury, Notts County and Sheffield United.
Ilkeston have said goodbye to last season’s leading scorer Leroy Lita. Several trialists featured in their pre-season friendlies, the final one being a 7-0 win over a Port Vale XI. We await today’s team selection with interest.
