Local jazz fans have a treat in store this Saturday 15th July – and it’s free.
Leading jazz pianist and singer Wendy Kirkland will take to the stage at 2pm in Ilkeston’s Victoria Park. The Observer Sunday newspaper has described her repertoire of swing, Latin, funk and soul as “terrific”. Wendy has been compared to jazz
More 2pm Sunday Bold as Brass concerts will be held at Stanley (23 July), Ilkeston’s Victoria Park (30 July), Breaston (6 August) and Long Eaton’s West Park (13 August).
The finale will be on Saturday, 19 August when Ilkeston Brass Band perform at the town’s Erewash Museum. Erewash Council Deputy Leader Cllr Becca Everett, Lead Member for Community Engagement, said: “There is no better way for music lovers in the borough to spend a relaxing summer afternoon.”
