What’s new at the Museum

Erewash Museum will be open on a Thursday, Friday and a Saturday, 11am until 4pm from the week starting 5 June 2023, being the most popular days for visitors to the award winning museum.
In addition, the museum will welcome pre-booked visits for schools and other organisations throughout the week as part of the museum’s popular educational programme.
The museum will also have extended opening in schools holiday periods including a new programme for summer activities this year and special event days. There are also some fascinating upcoming exhibitions and talks at the museum including a history talk on the Hope Robinson Prisoner of War letters on Saturday June 25, and the ‘Scene from Above’ exhibition by Rebecca Morledge, from July 15 to 29, featuring paintings of local scenes from an unusual viewpoint.
Patrons and visitors can also enjoy the museum gardens and take refreshments, cakes and snacks at the Old Stable Tea Room, which is managed by the Friends of the Museum.
The museum is recognised as a valuable social development hub in Ilkeston and the wider Erewash area promoting a cooperative spirit and bringing like-minded groups of people and charitable organisations together for the health and wellbeing of the community.
