The Sound of Erewash reaches Down Under

An Ilkestonian who moved to Australia in 1989 was excited to hear familiar accents on his radio recently.
Mick Worthington discovered Erewash Sound on-line in Perth and enjoyed it so much that he wrote in asking for a car sticker.
He said he felt sure that there were a few former Ilkeston residents living there too and that it would give them a kick to see it and maybe encourage them to tune in too.
Ian Perry, a presenter and spokesperson for the Cotmanhay-based radio station, replied inviting Mick to drop in if he ever returns to the UK, but in the meantime put some station goodies in an envelope and got them sent over by air-mail.
After receiving the package, Mick replied saying the car stickers were now on his vehicle – after some adaptation – and sent photos to prove it. He explained that car windows in Perth have very dark tints because of it being one of the sunniest cities in the world.
The photos were taken at Jurien Bay 225km north of Perth and the Pinnacles Desert.
