Ilkeston’s Creative Hive, which has monthly craft fairs at Trowell Parish Hall, invited others to join them in making the blanket. The finished article was unveiled today at Erewash Museum by the mayor councillor John Sewell.

Hive member and former upholsterer Dorothy Bexon said: “I stitched them all together in one day. I just worried that it would be all right.”
