I see there is an online article about ‘The five worst places to live in Derbyshire’, and Ilkeston is among them. The other four are Glossop, Bakewell, Matlock and Ripley.
It is supposedly based on comments by visitors and people who live there.
OK, it’s not perfect but what place is? There are some lovely people in our area who work tirelessly to help others. Ilkeston has some great attractions like the annual Charter Fair, the Heritage and Classic Vehicle show, Erewash Museum, Bennerley Viaduct and award winning green spaces.
I’m sure the town has lots of other gems loved by Ilkestonians. What’s your favourite place to go in town?
