The residents of Oliver House care home in Kirk Hallam were treated to excerpts from ‘Merlin the Panto’ by Ilkeston Theatre Company at the weekend.
The players also sang carols with them and shared the spirit of Christmas.
Activities and wellbeing coordinator Carol Lawson said the residents thoroughly enjoyed the visit and were grateful to them for coming.
“Special thanks to the wonderful people of the Ilkeston Theatre Company who entertained us so well. They outlined the story of the wizard Merlin and his apprentice Harry, prompting interaction and joining in with the fun.
“Our residents’ clapping and smiling was a testimony to a really enjoyable afternoon and the start of our Christmas celebrations.”
Ilkeston Theatre Company members performed the pantomime over four days at St John Houghton CVA the week before.
