Our gallery, your art!
Young artists are being encouraged to exhibit their work in the Lally Gallery at Erewash Museum this autumn.
As part of the ‘hand it over’ event, the museum gallery will feature artwork from young people in Erewash. Young people are encouraged to bring in their paintings, drawings, sculptures and art projects to be displayed in the museum’s exhibition space during October. The museum will also display items that are important to children in the borough, with a small explanation on why the item is special.
Young artists can take their artwork and special items to the museum no later than 4pm on Friday 24 September. The exhibition will run from Tuesday 4 October to Wednesday 28 October.
Young exhibitors are invited to the exhibition opening on Saturday 1 October to celebrate the event with other young artists.
Councillor Carol Hart, Leader of Erewash Borough Council, says:
“The ‘Hand it over’ gallery is a wonderful opportunity for all the creative, talented young people in Erewash to have their work exhibited in a public place. I look forward to seeing everybody’s artwork and their special items displayed in the Erewash Museum throughout October.”
Erewash Museum is located a short walk from Ilkeston’s Market Place. Admission is free for both the house and gardens. The volunteer-led tea room offers a variety of treats and drinks.
