Our new show ‘Volunteers’ opens in two weeks!
Brenda ( Jackie Cooper ) is running a charity shop, with the slightly addled Prue ( Angie Jacks ) and the sight-impaired Denny ( Paula Richmond) But there are changes in the charity and John Turk the CEO ( Ben Mills) with his devoted Claire (Jacqueline Dixon) are keen on a new image – younger staff. Brenda has to cope with her customers, a community service offender, Leanne ( Lucy Tanner) and the new regime.
As the local shoppers including an obnoxious woman Karen (Mandy Preston), a chatty woman Janet (Justine Haywood), a costume lady Cynthia (Georgie Ridgeway) and a penny pinching purchaser Vicky ( Sarah Grainger) search their way through all the shop has to offer there are many goings – on.
Your typical high street charity shop with the added Ilkeston Theatre Company humour, and maybe the odd flasher.
