Helping our communities

Erewash Borough Council is again reaching out to community groups to offer the opportunity to bid for a cash boost for the important work they do to help local people.

A further round of funding is now open through the council’s Community Grants Scheme, meaning charities and voluntary groups in the borough can apply for a grant of between £500 up to £2,000 for projects that will directly benefit local residents.

Applications are open until Tuesday 31 May and full details of how to apply can be found at www.erewash.gov.uk/grants

Councillor Paul Maginnis, Erewash Borough Council’s Lead Member for Health and Wellbeing, says:

“It has been the toughest couple of years for our communities and we are well aware of the vital role that so many voluntary groups have played in supporting residents, particularly the most vulnerable. Our Community Grants have made a real difference over many years now to so many organisations and people – which is why I am urging all our wonderful groups in Erewash to get in touch. If you’re involved in projects that have a positive impact on people of all ages in our borough, then these grants can be a lifeline.”

The council also has a Community Chest that provides funding of up to £500 for small community projects and/or community groups that require fast start up support. Subject to funding being available, applications can be submitted at any time until 20 December and will be assessed as and when they are received.
