Ilkeston Town football fans gutted by goalkeeper’s departure.

Robins’ supporters have voiced their sadness at the sudden departure of Ross Durrant.
Durrant has been a fans’ favourite at the New Manor Ground but the club recently signed Saul Deeney, who has been in the side for the last two matches.
Facebook page Unofficial Ilkeston Town FC 2021/21 has been inundated with comments regarding the situation.
They all have sympathy for Durrant who has been man of the match and Ilkeston’s saviour many times.
Typical was this comment from away travel organiser Zane Henson:
“Gutted. Absolutely gutted. He hadn’t done anything wrong to be taken out for me he wasn’t the problem we was leaking goals.”
Saul Deeney is a former goalkeeper with several big clubs and is famed for ‘that save’ when playing for Burton Albion against Manchester United in a televised FA Cup match.
On Saturday he made a vital last minute save to preserve Ilkeston’s win against Cambridge City.

We can confirm Ross Durrant has left the club by mutual consent.
We wish Ross all the best from everyone at Unofficial Ilkeston Town FC 2021/22
