Watch meeting online

An Erewash Borough Council meeting to discuss the future of the borough will be streamed live on YouTube to avoid disappointment for any residents wanting to attend.

Due to limited space in the public gallery at Long Eaton Town Hall, the meeting of the Full Council will be streamed live on the council’s YouTube channel at 7pm on Thursday March 3.

Councillors are set to discuss the borough’s Core Strategy, a blueprint that sets out positive ways forward for the borough over the next 15 years.

The strategy is a detailed document that features the proposed sites for new housing, including development on some green belt land. The Core Strategy is a ‘masterplan’ that also sets out a wide range of policies to take the borough forward including town centre regeneration, employment, transport and green infrastructure.

Councillor Carol Hart, Leader of Erewash Borough Council, says:

“We know that lots of people in Erewash will be interested in what is going to be said at this meeting and I would therefore encourage residents to get online and watch the meeting the council’s YouTube channel. We want as many people to view the meeting online as possible and save disappointment by being turned away at the town hall because the public gallery is full.”

If the meeting decides that the council’s Core Strategy will go out for further public consultation, residents will be able to make comments online or via forms available from Ilkeston and Long Eaton Town Halls.
