Ilkeston District Cub Scouts had a fun morning ten pin bowling. Leaders said it was good to see all the cub packs taking part in something after Covid.

The winners were 10th Ilkeston, runners up 16th Ilkeston and in third place 21st Ilkeston. Vincent from 10th scored the highest individual score and not far behind were George from 21st and Isaac from 4th.

Diane Harris, District Cub Scout Leader, said all the cubs had a fabulous morning learning for some, a new sport (part of the Skills Challenge badge) or improving on their skills.

The next District Cub section event is the Sixer and Seconder day at Drum Hill, many activities being planned for the older Cubs.

Scouting is open to boys and girls from the age of six. But it cannot happen in Ilkeston without the dedication of all its leaders and helpers. If you want to volunteer and join the adventure with Scouting, it can be as flexible as you need. We are currently looking for a new team leader/s as well as other district roles. Or you might prefer to be with a Group.

As life returns to normal, we are having lots of new enquiries for young people to enjoy the benefits of Scouting. So, if you are interested in lending a hand or just want more information, please do get in touch via this email address: ilkestonscouting@gmail.com. Or if you want to pick up the phone, talk to Diane on 0115 932 9979.
