Yuletide shopping at Erewash Museum

Erewash Museum invite you to step back in time and experience an old fashioned Christmastime with their stunning winter Dickensian display and late night shopping on Thursday December 2th, 9th and 16th until 7pm.

The beautifully lit display will re-create a Victorian street scene at Christmas featuring traditional lighting, home-made wreaths adorning the museum doors, decorations and an array of street characters preparing for the festive season.

The shopping nights are free and are a great opportunity to ‘shop local’, support local businesses and find unique presents that are not available elsewhere. It’s the ideal place to pop to after work for a spot of gift shopping! There is no need to book, come and experience the museum after dark and really get into the festive spirit.

Lead Member for Community Engagement, Councillor Val Clare, said: “The museum after dark is a truly magical experience, especially at Christmas and we are so lucky to have this amazing award winning museum right on our doorstep here in Erewash.
“Have a browse around the museum and the gift shop, pick up a unique gift and you can enjoy a warming beverage in the Old Stables Tearoom.”

Erewash Museum is in Ilkeston town centre, a short walk from the Market Place. Admission to the museum building is free.
