In a Christmas special to be aired later in the year, Naomi Allsop, Activities Coordinator at Canal Vue Care Home in Ilkeston was invited speak to singer/songwriter Sir Rod Stewart.
In what was a very select and special audience of key workers from the NHS and Social Care sector, Naomi was chosen to meet the rock legend who addressed his audience on a Zoom call conveying thanks to care workers for all their hard work.
Organised by BBC Radio, the Make a Difference Christmas Special will see Naomi talking about her inspiration for her work and one person in particular, Mr Donald Rose, the 106 year old who has made the Canal Vue his home.
Naomi, Activities Coordinator at the Awsworth Road residence says: “What an absolute honour to be invited to speak with Sir Rod Stewart. It was amazing to be able to share my story about how Donald is a massive inspiration to me. And it was fantastic when I got to ask Rod a question, which had to be, ‘What inspires you?’.
You can find out how Rod answered in the programme which
will be aired at Christmas time.
