Not To Be Missed Remembrance Event

Join the Canal Vue Care Home Remembrance Day event on Thursday the 11th of November at 11.15am with some very special guests.

Held in the care home car park, the Care Home will be celebrating and remembering those who served and lost their lives in war whilst paying special honours to resident Mr Donald Rose.

Mr Rose is a 106 year old decorated veteran who served on the frontline of World War II and now calls Canal Vue his home.

In honour of him and his service the Royal British Legion Riders Branch, The Royal British Legion (Ilkeston Branch), the Lord Lieutenant of Derbyshire, Mrs. Elizabeth Fothergill, CBE, Revd Ruth Allen, Erewash Council Leader Susan Beardsley representing the Mayor, Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service, and Meadowhall School, will be in attendance to make it a day everyone will remember.

Naomi Allsop Activities Coordinator at Canal Vue Care Home says: “This is especially exciting as we have Donald, a cherished man whose actions in service and memories we are determined not to lose. We look forward to welcoming all, but especially the many media outlets, including ITV, BBC, and Channel Five, who will also be joining us to mark this very special day to honour a very special person.”
