Canal Vue Coffee Morning For Queen’s Green Canopy

Canal Vue Care Home, with the helping hands of The Prince’s Trust Derbyshire, are holding a fundraising coffee morning on Friday the 8th of October all in aid of the Queen’s Green Canopy initiative.

The Prince’s Trust are taking part in the Queen’s Green Canopy (QGC) and have chosen the care home to mark the unique tree planting initiative created to mark Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022 which invites people from across the United Kingdom to “Plant a Tree for the Jubilee”.

Canal Vue Care Home Activities Coordinator Naomi Allsop says: “We hope you can join the fundraising event and support the people at The Prince’s Trust raise money for the project to buy trees and plants. We’re also appealing for garden equipment and accessories people might like to donate too. We’re looking forward to seeing you, you’ll find us the garden with our refreshments and cakes all set out.”

With a focus on planting sustainably, the QGC will encourage planting of trees to create a legacy in honour of The Queen’s leadership of the Nation, which will benefit future generations.

As well as inviting the planting of new trees, The Queen’s Green Canopy will dedicate a network of 70 Ancient Woodlands across the United Kingdom and identify 70 Ancient Trees to celebrate Her Majesty’s 70 years of service.
