Rummaging through some old stuff, I found an Advertiser from 2007. Inside was this article about my old friend Arthur Walters and Trowell Writers Club. Arthur was an excellent writer, poet and dramatist, penning scripts for pantomimes, which always contained a touch of local humour. Along with his wife Vambria – sadly both are no longer with us – he ran the Trowell writers group at his home, helping others to enjoy and improve their creative writing. The group produced a regular magazine containing contributions from members. Pictured in the Tiser are prizewinners in an open writing competition.
