A specialist gang is being hunted after dragging a cash machine out of the wall of a supermarket.

When it landed on the ground, the offenders sawed it open, took the money, and drove off.

The offence took place at 2.30am on August 12 [TODAY] at the Morrisons store on Tamworth Road, Sawley.

They arrived in a van and car but also had a telehandler, plant hire equipment with a hydraulic arm. This was used to pull the ATM from the wall.

Police are keen to hear from anyone who was in the Long Eaton area at the time. They are especially eager to be contacted by drivers who have dashcam footage that could provide clues.

Derbyshire Police said: “A group of men removed an unknown amount of cash from the machine and drove off in the direction of the A50.”
