Lacie gives the gift of hair
Eight-year-old Lacie Sisson’s hair is seven inches shorter after having four plaits cut off.
She told her mum Toyah Trueman she wanted to donate some of her hair to the Little Princess Trust to help poorly children with cancer.
She also wanted to do it in memory of her ‘Auntie Jade’ who she never got to meet but talks about her all the time.
On Monday 10th May Lacie and her mum arrived at The Worx hairdressers in Ilkeston where stylist Sian Richards obliged with the big chop.
Toyah said. “It’s done! Lacie has had the seven inches of her beautiful locks removed. The four plaits will go to the Little Princess Trust who do amazing work with children who have lost hair through cancer treatment.
”It was something Lacie wanted to do and all our family are so proud of her. She has a heart of gold.
“And we are so grateful to Sian for making her feel like a princess while she was sat in the chair. I’ve got to say she looks so grown up now.
“We want to thank everyone who has sponsored or donated to Lacie. We never expected to reach this amount – £1,461 at the moment.”
Lacie’s uncle Andy Trueman said: “Lacie’s justgiving page is still open if anyone wants to donate. It’s a really good cause and I know Lacie would be over the moon to see the amount go higher.”
Lacie lives in the Larklands area and goes to Kensington Junior School.
