Death of Graham Whitehead
We are very sorry to hear of the death of Graham Whitehead, ex-professional footballer who also played with several local teams including Stanton FC.
While living in Kirk Hallam, he coached a number of teams and young players. Kirk Hallam Youth Club players were among those who benefited from his knowledge and advice on the Windsor Crescent playing field.
He died on 17th July, aged 82, after being ill for some time.
The photograph shows him in a very successful Chesterfield youth team line-up, including the legendary England goalkeeper Gordon Banks. Graham is on the back row, far right.
His cremation takes place at Bramcote on Tuesday 28th July.
