Your thoughts on Victoria Park
Residents are being asked for their views on Ilkeston’s Victoria Park as the major heritage project that has transformed it back to its former glory comes to an end.
Erewash Borough Council was awarded over £740,000 by the National Lottery Heritage Fund and National Lottery Community Fund in July 2014 towards an ambitious project to conserve, re-shape and develop the popular Green Flag park.
With the project now successfully completed, a short survey is open for residents and visitors to share their thoughts on their use of the park, any changes they have noticed in the last few years, and their hopes for its future.
The survey is online now at erewash.gov.uk/consultations until Friday 24 July and the council is keen for residents to take part. This short survey follows a similar satisfaction survey run by the council just before it was awarded the HLF funding and the results of the latest one will help show what people think about the major work and shape any future ideas.
Erewash Borough Council’s Lead Member for Culture and Leisure, Councillor Mike Wallis, says:
“We know this is a much-loved park with the young, the older generation and families all enjoying spending quality time there. We have had lots of positive feedback, with people enjoying the restored features and appreciating the beautiful landscape and flowerbeds.
“By sharing their views in this survey, residents will help us to formally report on the success of the project – while also giving us ideas on how to keep the park at its award-winning best.”
