Complaints left a nasty taste

A popular chip shop chain in our area has stopped giving discounts to NHS workers because it had been overwhelmed with requests.
George’s Tradition boss Andrew Constantinou said so many people had been getting in touch every day that it had caused delays and led to complaints about waiting times.
Some of the letters from disgruntled customers contained hurtful criticism and ‘unpleasant content’.
Mr Constantinou said he was conscious of the great work being done by NHS workers and others involved with deserving causes, so he would instead be making a donation of £500 a week to good causes nominated by his customers.
George’s Tradition has branches in Ilkeston and Long Eaton.
