Park shop closing without explanation
Mystery surrounds the sudden imminent closure of the ice cream and refreshment kiosk on Victoria Park.
Gemma Worthington runs the Barefeet in the Park kiosk, along with the Barefeet Wellbeing Lounge on Manners Road.
A post on Facebook says:
“We will be closing our doors for good. We are absolutely DEVASTATED.
Barefeet in the Park has been my pride and joy for 3 lovely years, and the whole team have put our hearts into our lovely kiosk.
“We have had the pleasure of meeting hundreds of customers, many we now call friends. Erewash Borough Council have now told us we must leave with NO explanation given!
“It’s been a tough upsetting week for us all.
“We cannot all thank you enough for your custom and companionship over the years.
“WE WISH WE COULD STAY 😢 Please pop down to say goodbye.
“We will be open all weekend (weather depending) and close next Sunday 29th September 2019.
