Miss P Davis of Hallcroft is remembered in the latest Ilkeston Life. “Somewhat fierce but could be very kind at times” is how one pupil remembered her. She taught English and English Literature at the school from her arrival in the early sixties. John Aldred, who supplied much of the information for the article and who now lives in Exeter, is trying get back in touch with Alan Webster who was assigned to be his mentor when he began at Hallcroft as a late entrant.
